Order Management Coordinator



Effectively and efficiently manage order management of trucking operations and the movement of cement by truck (bulk, flatbed & LTL) inbound, intra-company, and outbound to the end customers. ??Ensure product is delivered on time, at the lowest cost possible and free of exceptions.

  • Ensure that the LafargeHolcim 5 rules of safety become a standard for the Order Management Coordinators (OMC?s)
  • Committed to safety in their daily activities
  • Encourages safety daily with customers and carriers
  • Facilitates the order process through order taking, entry, load scheduling, tendering, acceptance notification, and delivery confirmation
  • Works to resolve customer issues with the local team to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Responsible for the management of exceptions by contacting the carrier, customer and/or market manager to ensure no disruption in service
  • Ensures communication of key business information to team and to OMC Lead on a regular basis
  • Provide feedback to OMC Lead on continuous process improvement ideas and potential savings opportunities
  • Works with the regional sales team to improve communication and service leading to increased sales and improved service
  • Ensure that tools and processes are used and managed daily by full team
  • Work with the OMC Lead and Regional Transportation Coordinators to utilize the most effective utilization of carriers with in their region
  • Work to meet the expectations of the Order Desk Manager and broader logistics organization
  • Communicate effectively with ship locations
  • Become thoroughly familiar with all customers and carriers in their market place
  • Responsible for oversight of expedite and exception management
  • Coordinates continuous communication between sales, terminal operations, carriers, and corporate logistics for region
  • Coordinates the expediting of cement in the event of a failure either by the existing carrier or a new carrier
  • Proactive carrier capacity management
  • Ability to perform cost analysis to ensure optimal source is utilized


  • This role will have relationships across a large scope of our company and external company.
  • The role will interact with customers and sales staff daily to ensure that customers and terminals are supplied as ordered.
  • Interact with the OMC
  • Lead and manage performance of carriers and enable constant customer supply.



Required Education:? High School diploma/GED

Additional Education Preferred:? Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

Field of Study Preferred:? Logistics/Supply Chain/Customer Service

Required Work Experience:?? 1-3 years of logistics / customer service experience

Travel Requirements:? <5%

Required Computer / Software / Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • ERP (SAP in particular) experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems is a PLUS.
  • Cement industry experience preferred.? ?


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
